Patrimion
The spreadsheets I used to keep, turned into an application: accounts, spending, investments, goals, pension. Wealth in the widest sense, comparable year on year.
Why I built it
I used to keep my finances in a spreadsheet, because I like having my data tidy and under control. The trouble was that I had one file per year: comparing 2022 with 2024 was a nightmare of VLOOKUPs and hoping I had not grabbed the wrong column.
So I decided to rebuild those sheets as an application: same data, all in one place and comparable over time.
Along the way it grew. Wealth is not just the bank account: it is time, health, the house, the pension. So beyond spending I can set myself a goal like reading five books this year and see how that compares with last year, or find out that I am spending 30% less on restaurants than a year ago, which means I can still blow the money on something else entirely. 😅
Wealth in the widest sense.
What it does
- Accounts and balances: current accounts, cash and investments in one view.
- Income and spending with categories, recurring entries and monthly budgets.
- Investments and debts: portfolio, loans, rates, repayment plans.
- Goals: target amounts with progress.
- Pension: an estimate of the public and supplementary parts.
- F.I.R.E.: the capital needed for financial independence and how far off it is.
How it looks
Interface reconstructions, drawn with the app's own colours and labels.

How it is built
TanStack Start, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Supabase. CSV and Excel import.
One clarification
I built it outside working hours. It is not my trade, it is something I enjoy.
